Mrs. Dana Smith

Hello and welcome to my website! I am Dana Smith and I teach 7th and 8th grade English here at the Middle School.  This is my 6th year teaching at SMAMS.  I am a native of Pittsburgh and lived there for 26 years.  My husband is also an English teacher and he is what brought me to this area.  I received my bachelors and masters degrees from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in English Literature and Communications.  I then attended both Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to obtain my teaching certification for grades 7-12.  From there I adjunct taught at Penn State DuBois and Pitt-Bradford before I was hired in DuBois Area School District.  After one year teaching there I rejoined the SMAMS team.  

I love teaching students writing and how to be creative, out of the box thinkers.  I love watching my students grow into great people.

In my free time I love spending time with my husband, children, and family in Pittsburgh.
