A Better Tomorrow Sooner

As the COVID-19 pandemic surges across the nation, individuals, families, and communities can take action to save lives, fuel economic recovery, and restore our communities. We all can do our part by wearing masks, staying 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding nonessential indoor spaces and crowded outdoor settings. Communities can put policies in place to increase access to testing, protect healthcare workers and people at risk for severe illness, and plan for widespread vaccination.

new CDC report outlines a combination of 10 evidence-based strategies to slow and ultimately stop the spread of COVID-19.

Together, we can take actions to have a better tomorrow sooner.

COVID

Everyone can:

  • Wear a mask consistently and correctly.
  • Stay at least 6 feet apart from others.
  • Limit contact with others.
  • Avoid nonessential indoor spaces (like enclosed restaurants) and crowded outdoor settings.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
  • Get tested and stay home and away from others if you have COVID-19.
  • Stay home and away from others if you've been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
  • Postpone travel. Those who choose to travel by plane domestically should consider getting tested before and after travel.

If anyone in your household is actively experiencing any of the above symptoms, is awaiting testing for COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19, please keep your child home from school and follow guidance provided by your healthcare provider or PA Department of Health at https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Symptoms-Testing.aspx

  • Please complete the new purple health forms ENTIRELY.   Forms will be sent home with students on the first day of school.

It is absolutely necessary for the school nurse and school personnel to have working phone numbers for parents and guardians should your child become sick or injured during the school day.

***Please plan now for emergency pick up and list at least two emergency contacts who are available and able to pick up your student should the nurse or school personnel not be able to reach you.

Timely pick up and isolation of sick students is required to maintain a safe school environment.  School health offices have been reconfigured to comply with safety recommendations and COVID-19 protocol.  There will not be a space available for students to lie down during the school day or be overseen for long periods of time when sick or symptomatic.

  • Please inform your employer of this change, and the need for timely student pick up.
